Ineke Hans is a critical designer of furniture, products, exhibitions, and spaces with substance. She explores new design strategies and works for clients, communities, and leading international manufacturers on product typologies that fit our future social context. After graduating from the RCA in London, she founded her studio in Arnhem (NL) in 1998. She has been working with recycled materials and efficient material use for over 25 years. Her projects are clear and down-to-earth, both industrial and connected to grassroots approaches. In 2015, Ineke moved back to London to start the London Salons, themed: 'The future of furniture design & the changing position of the designer'. She concluded these salons with lectures and exhibitions at the V&A and elsewhere, as well as the pamphlet 'Explore & Act'. Since 2017, Ineke has been a professor of Design & Social Context at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, with a focus on design impact & climate change.

Ton Haas's products are characterized by their respect for the user, translated into clarity of form and material. His work displays a great diversity in subject, function, and execution. After studying at various academies, including the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem and Kingston Polytechnic in London, Ton Haas was a co-founder and partner of several industrial design studios. Ton Haas has been active within his own company since 1993. In 2006, he also co-founded harechair®, a brand for the production, marketing, and sale of contemporary furniture. Although Ton Haas lives and works in the Caribbean, his focus is global, and he has realized projects all over the world.

In 1986, he graduated from the Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Industrial Design, under Professor Wim Crouwel. That same year, he began working as an industrial designer at Kembo, a contract furniture manufacturer based in Veenendaal. In 1993, his role expanded to design manager, where he was responsible for product design. He designed a large portion of the collection himself and also collaborated with external designers on projects for the company. Alongside his design work, he has mentored various students and young designers on a wide range of projects for Artez, the Sandberg Instituut/Rietveld Academie, IPO The Hague, and the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design. He established himself as an independent designer in 2009.

Contributing to a better and greener planet was the primary motivation for founder Marc Meijers to launch DenimX, alongside his industrial design agency MMD (www.mmd.nl). ‘There is nothing wrong with helping companies with their design and engineering challenges, and I have found great satisfaction in creating successful product designs for a large number of businesses over the last 25 years. But something had been nagging at me for a long time. Loco is the design partnership of Lorenzo Mattozzi and Cosimo Scotucci, both architects at MVRDV in Rotterdam. Drawing on their Italian background and broad expertise, they work on a diverse range of projects, from urban planning and architecture to public spaces and furniture design. Their design approach is rooted in playfulness, sustainability, wonder, and usability. These values form the common thread throughout their work. Every design incorporates an element of lightness and joy, without compromising on responsibility in material use and production. The sense of wonder they weave into their designs sparks curiosity and engagement. At the same time, their focus on usability ensures that their creations are accessible and intuitive for a wide audience, contributing to the appeal and impact of their work.
